Truth and Lies

THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER!

Truth lies ahead!

WE NEED JUSTICE FOR ALL

Justitia - Truth

TRUTH LIES AHEAD …. pardon the Pun!

We read of shocking occurrences daily, in all states – either from the police, or government departments – or both – and of course from the offenders themselves.
A huge number of people in discussions on LinkedIn and other similar forums have dreadful personally lived experiences – few cases of which ever get successfully solved. My life’s experiences sadly fit this scenario.
There is a very deep societal problem that has wrapped its tendrils around vast areas of our lives, so on whichever area we focus, there is yet another that requires attention to attempt correction of the vast issues in our society.

A HUGE SHIFT is needed!
Big question though … How? – And By Whom?

Throughout history, the topic of truth has been discussed – it’s told in movies, books, and many a famous quote, to name a few mediums.

1984In the book 1984, by George Orwell — there are a lot of very interesting/perturbing aspects that can easily be seen panning out in the society of today, about which many a writer has discussed for years.

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

Media

Orwell criticises bad writing habits which are then spread by imitation. He argues that writers must think more clearly. Herein steps a major culprit, I am proposing… the internet, with the complex, never-ending spiral of social media, and the addiction to it, by the majority. What we see written is not necessarily fact … but untruths are spread like wild fire, and soon are viewed as fact.
The moral to be drawn from this dangerous nightmare situation depicted in 1984 is a simple one: Don’t let it happen!

Mark Twain wrote:
Most writers regard the truth as their most valuable possession, and therefore are most economical in its use.”

Martin Luther King Jr

The ultimate ignorance is the rejection of something about which you know nothing, yet refuse to investigate. How common is this? Far too common, I feel.
The police and government authorities are too frequently guilty of this behaviour.

OATH:

“I swear by Almighty God that the evidence I shall give will be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.”

Alternatively:
“I solemnly declare and affirm that the evidence I shall give will be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.”

What is said in a court of law is the truth (in theory, at least). If you don’t tell the truth, you are guilty of perjury — sadly, a crime that too many commit, police and law-keepers included!
Have you seen the movie, ‘A Few Good Men’? Jack Nicholson’s character, after being challenged for the truth by Tom Cruise, the defence lawyer, shouts, “You can’t handle the truth!”

There may be little, perhaps nothing, on our earth more precious than the truth.

In the legal drama ‘And Justice for All‘ Al Pacino plays attorney Arthur Kirkland, who loses his cool in an extreme manner. He is so frustrated with legal corruption that when the judge tells Kirkland he’s out of order, Kirkland rocks the courtroom, shouting,

“You’re out of order! You’re out of order! The whole trial is out of order! They’re out of order!”

Classic words that I dearly love to hear! Such a shame real life cannot mimic this!
Bring the Justice System and all connected to it, to order – thus allowing integrity for all.

Justice

maat
“There really can be no peace without justice. There can be no justice without truth. And there can be no truth, unless someone rises up to tell you the truth.”
Quote by Louis Farrakhan
(Louis Farrakhan is an American black supremacist and religious leader who heads the Nation of Islam. Prior to joining the NOI, he was a calypso singer who used the stage name Calypso Gene.)

Again Al Pacino nails it in ‘And Justice for All’ :

“Sorry, Your Honour. Let’s get back to justice. What is justice? What is the intention of justice? The intention of justice is to see that the guilty people are proven guilty and that the innocent are freed. Simple, isn’t it? Only it’s not that simple. However, it is the defence counsel’s duty to protect the rights of the individual, as it is the prosecution’s duty to uphold and defend the laws of the State. Justice for all. Only we have a problem here. And you know what it is? Both sides wanna win. We wanna win. We wanna win regardless of the truth. And we wanna win regardless of justice, regardless of who’s guilty or innocent. Winning is everything!”

Of course, the case has to get to court to be judged. Far too many cases are swept under the carpet due to police misconduct!
The denial of truth yet again prevails, condemning the lives of innocent victims! … myself included.

What do you call someone who refuses to tell the truth?

A denialist. : a person who denies the existence, truth, or validity of something, despite proof or strong evidence that it is real, true, or valid.
How many of us are up against these denialists, in both the police force and in the ‘justice’ system?
Voltaire, a French writer, historian, and philosopher famous for his advocacy of freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and separation of church and state, said:
“Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do.”

To finish off, here are a number of worthy quotes about Truth …..

truth
“Truth hurts. But lies can kill.”
Karen Marie Moning

“Sometimes people don’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want their illusions destroyed.”
Friedrich Nietzsche

“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you mad.”
Aldous Huxley

“The truth will set you free. But not until it is finished with you.”
David Foster Wallace

Stories of hard-fought battles and struggles to achieve justice and liberty resonate loudly, while hopeful messages like John 8:32,
“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

“If you tell the truth you do not need a good memory!”
Mark Twain

Justice will prevail

JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL

“Out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope.”
From the “I Have A Dream” speech by Martin Luther King, Jr in Washington, DC on August 28, 1963.

    Hi Mikky,

Please keep expressing yourself in ways that help. I loved to express myself writing poetry. Your words will help many in the same situation.

Our current situation seems to be getting worse in my standards. Pedophiles are being protected. Look at the backlash from the Sound of Freedom movie! You spoke of ‘denial’ and this is really in your face denial on a global realm.

Stay strong and may truth reign in the end…

Thanks so much Debbie … your kindness and encouragement is so very heart-warming for me.

That’s great that you have personally used poetry … I don’t know why, as I never have – but I felt compelled to, so I wrote 😁

I do trust my articles may assist others who have had similar experiences, as I know many people suffer greatly and have nobody with whom to talk these delicate issues through.
It’s difficult to ascertain if society is getting worse and there is more sexual abuse and paedophilia happening .. or if it’s because we have a lot more access in today’s age, with expressing and communicating these topics. Either way – I agree that it seems to be getting worse and the situation is dire!

I wasn’t aware there was bad backlash from the movie ‘Sound of Freedom’ – but I certainly know, having lived through it for most of my life, that denial is a tragic aspect of society, thus allowing the atrocities to occur – and to continue to repeat.

Thanks so much again … you are a very kind and loving person!
I am most grateful to you.

      Warm Regards,
      Mikayla
