Does this mean you have actually been accepted by a publisher and that your book has been published? Or is it an “award” for a manuscript seeking a publisher – in other words, a marketing ploy by Chanticleer?

I have made it to the Long List Tony … there is still a way to go to receive the actual Award – if I make it that far!
So no .. the book has not as yet been accepted by a publisher, nor is it yet published.
Entering awards are stepping stones along the way.
There are many paths towards getting published, as I am certain you well know. I don’t agree that awards are ‘marketing ploys’ as you have suggested.
If my book succeeds in moving further forward, then I am extremely grateful to Chanticleer because the prestige of an award goes a long way when approaching publishers.
